PRAISE THE LORD!!

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord from the heavens!
Praise Him from the skies!
Worship the God in His mighty heaven!
Worship Him in His sanctuary!

Praise the Lord!

God has created man,
Dwell wherever he can
Though he is mere mortal
Lord crowns him with glory!

Praise the Lord!

Praise Him with the blast of trumpet;
Praise Him with the lyre and harp!
Praise Him with the tambourine and dancing;
Praise Him with strings and flutes!

Praise the Lord!

Let all that I’m praise the Lord;
With my whole heart, I’ll praise His holy name.
Let all that I’m praise the Lord;
May I never forget the good deeds He does for me.

Praise the Lord!

SINNER

O God I was born a sinner
Body and soul full of iniquity;
For the wages of sin is death,
Cleanse mine with Thy blood.

I then realize my works never save me
Knelt down and prayed before the Cross;
Remembered suddenly the God’s word,
“Believe in Lord Jesus and you’ll be saved.”

‘For God so loved the world so much
That He gave His one and only son;
So whoever believeth in Jesus Christ,
Will have the eternal life’ as none gives.

I accede Christ as my Saviour,
For there is salvation in no one else!
And God has given no other name
Under which I will be saved.

Don’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 20.

imageRecently, I read this quote and this echoed me on many different levels.

We have the inborn ability to compare ourselves, in everything we do, to what someone else is doing or has done. I would blame a lot on social media and constantly being flooded with the incredible, splendid or astounding things other people are doing.

Status updates, photos and videos deluge my news feed every day. I’m constantly connected to everyone in my world without ever communicating with them. I know who is married, who’s having a baby, who’s on vacation or who’s flying across the globe on business trips. I know who just bought a house or who got a new car. I even know your dog or cat. I make out who is on track to stay healthy, with the pictures of their food and workouts. I know your political stance, your dreams and your passion. Most significantly, I know how far you have arrived.

This inundation of information makes us to compare ourselves with others. We steadily compare our beginnings to someone else’s middle; our middle to someone else’s end. Doing this, you will find that you’re never satisfied nor be good enough. You will invariably forget to celebrate your achievement.

Whether we recognize it or not, we are constantly comparing ourselves.  When we compare ourselves to others, we simply cannot win.  It’s a losing combat.

I mean that we are all at different phases in our lives, in our profession, in our hobbies, etc. And when we compare ourselves to others, we recognize that we have a long way to go.  Discouraging thoughts douse our minds telling us that we aren’t good enough or we will never get there.  Our thoughts tell us that our goals are too far away and virtually unachievable.

Stop comparing your chapter 1 to other people’s chapter 20!  Today is the day to remind yourself that you are capable of accomplishing anything.  Every journey has a beginning, and today is the day to begin yours.

Wherever you are in life with whatever you’re doing, you’re going to be ahead of some and behind others. Be in possession of where you are. Take time to embrace and celebrate that. Keep on moving forward.

And never compare your beginning to someone else’s middle.

THE GREAT MYSTERY OF OUR FAITH

Standing in the church of the living God
The pillar and foundation of the truth
Revealing the heart of the Good News
“The great mystery of our faith”

Revealed in a human body
Vindicated by the Spirit
Was seen by angels and
Announced to the nations.

Believed in throughout the world
‘n taken to the heaven in glory.
As a man, Jesus lived a perfect life, and
As God, He gives us the power to do what’s right.
