AT CERTAIN TIMES GOD ALLOWS HIS WORK TO SUFFER

“And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the articles of the house of God, which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the articles into the treasure house of his god.” Daniel‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭NKJV‬

In this instance, the Babylonians raided the Temple of God and took the worship articles to the temple of god in Babylon (may have been Bel, also called Marduk). Those who loved the Lord must have felt disheartened and discouraged.

We feel greatly disappointed when our churches suffer physical damage, split or close down for financial reasons. We do not know why God allows His church to experience these calamities.

But like the people who witnessed the plundering of the House of God by the Babylonians, we must trust that God is in control and that He is watching over all who trust Him.

YOUR VERDICT

Fear in my heart, and cold in my soul,
On unsteady feet I stand up to you
To hear the decision of the jury.
Tears in my eyes, dry throat,
I take the responsibility of your broken heart,
I must take my punishment.
You’re the victim here;
I cannot linger on what I feel.
I can’t dwell on my pain seeing you suffer,
You are the only one for me.
I stumbled, I tripped,
But I’m still where I’m meant to be.
I realized when you looked at me,
The damage I’ve done is vast.
No matter how much I plead on my knees,
I’m sorry won’t cut it this time.
But “I am sorry”,
I think about your pain.
The sorrow in your voice is breaking me down.
This is not about me.
I patiently wait for your choice.
Knowing I’m not worth it,
Praying you still love me.
I won’t give up on us;
I stand here looking for
